Witness to Change:
Conversations on Coastal Impacts
LEH Reading and Discussion Program
About the Program
In April of 2022, the City Archives & Special Collections is excited to have hosted “Witness to Change: Conversations on Coastal Impacts,” an LEH and BHP funded program aimed at fostering conversations about the challenges facing coastal communities. Discussions were led by Dr. Robin G. Vander, Associate Professor of English and African American & Diaspora Studies at Xavier University.
Witness to Change: Conversations on Coastal Impacts is part of the BHP-funded project, Coastal Impacts: An Integrated Approach for Community Adaptation, Understanding, and Planning, which assists local communities to build intergenerational coastal literacy through community conversations around books, film, and exhibitions, fostering greater understanding of and support for coastal restoration projects. This series incorporates both fiction and nonfiction and will explore topics such as climate change, disaster response, displacement, the importance of home, community roots, and more.
