New Orleans Street Renaming
On June 18, 2020, the New Orleans City Council approved Motion M-20-170 to establish the City Council Street Renaming Commission, an advisory committee to consider renaming certain streets, parks, and public places in New Orleans that honor white supremacists. City Archives & Special Collections staff completed the research and wrote the report that would help inform the decisions.
