Marriage Records Requests

Use the form below to request a search for a marriage record from our archives. If you have any additional information about the marriage record, such as the name of the court or the certificate or license number, please include that in the “Marriage Citation” field. City Archives & Special Collections only holds copies of Orleans Parish marriage certificates from 1870-1916.

 Fee: $2 per marriage searched and up to 1 page copied
$2 per additional page copied

For certified copies of Marriage Certificates 50 years or older, please contact the State Archives. For Marriage Certificates from 1916 to 50 years ago please also contact the Louisiana Secretary of State.

For Marriage Certificates 50 years or older from outside Orleans Parish, contact the Clerk of Court in the Parish in which the marriage was conducted.

For all Marriage Certificates from the last 50 years, please contact the Vital Records Registry.
