Donations
Records of the City of New Orleans
The City Archives & Special Collections serves as the official repository for the records of the New Orleans city government (See Home Rule Charter of the City of New Orleans, 94:36-41). Please contact the City Archives to discuss your agency’s records and retention obligations.
Special Collections and Rare Books
If you are interested in donating Special Collections or Rare Books to the Archives please contact us to discuss your donation.
Donations are accepted on a case by case basis, in accordance with our Collection Development Policy.
Book Donations
If you are interested in donating Books to the Archives please contact us to discuss your donation.
Donations submitted to the Archives without prior discussion will be reviewed to determine if the material is appropriate for inclusion in the collection. Materials not included in the collection will be considered a donation to the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library Book Sale.
Genealogy Materials
If you are interested in donating Genealogy Materials to the Archives please contact us to discuss your donation.
Donations submitted to the Archives without prior discussion will be reviewed to determine if the material is appropriate for inclusion in the collection. Materials not included in the collection will be considered a donation to the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library Book Sale.
Monetary and General Book Donations
The Friends of the New Orleans Public Library can assist with questions about monetary and general book donations.
